Avena is skilled with many painting mediums and often her style shifts depending on the medium used. She has been practicing oils for over 10 years, favoured for it's vibrancy, textures and malleable qualities. More recently she has delved into UV reactive acrylics, watercolours and gouache creating playful and powerful artworks. Her work shifts between various concepts, however always returns to her passion for nature. It has always been a consistent source of inspiration for her art practice. Whether it is an environmental protest to protect and preserve, a personal expression, or simply to capture the extraordinary organic forms nature creates.
